Exchange of Ideas, Insights into Career Paths, and Making New Connections

On 4 July, the Munich Quantum Alumni Network (MQA) held its second summer networking event. Current and former members of the scientific community gathered to exchange ideas, refresh long-standing relationships, and make new contacts.

Alumni such as Thomas Stolz, now working as Lead Performance Engineer at Airbus, Vincent Steffan, who is now a quantum error correction engineer at IQM, and Fabian Schmidt, who is currently a postdoc at ETH Zurich, offerend insights into their career path and day-to-day work for the current PhD students. The following speed networking part also provided plenty of opportunity for exchange, giving early-career scientists in particular the chance to talk to alumni who are further along in their careers.

The alumni network is aimed at all current and former members of Munich Quantum Valley (MQV), the Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology (MCQST), and the International Max Planck Research School for Quantum Science and Technology (IMPRS-QST).

Further information and updates on the alumni network can be found on the alumni website. Read the full review of the event on the MQV page.
