The MCQST Colloquium Series features interdisciplinary talks given by visiting international speakers. The monthly colloquial covers topics spanning all MCQST research units and will be broadcasted live, being made available to audiences worldwide. “New twists on magnetism in flatland”

Recent advances allow study of truly two-dimensional physics in atomically thin van der Waals materials. Through examples, I will illustrate how tiny rotations of single atomic layers relative to one another induces new types of magnetism.
