Quantum Minutes – science straight from the lab

Was Hawking Wrong About Black Holes?

In the new video series "Quantum Minutes," researchers from the Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology explain complex quantum phenomena in just a few minutes. They break down the fundamentals of quantum science in an easy, understandable, and relatable manner, from the basics of quantum theory and cutting-edge research to quantum technologies that may change our daily lives in the future.

Can information be retrieved from a black hole? Today's host, Dr. Christoph Sünderhauf, completed his doctoral research in the group of Prof. Ignacio Cirac at the Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics in Garching, Germany. His research focuses on chaos in many-body quantum systems. Perhaps surprisingly, quantum scrambling is also linked to the information-theoretic properties of black holes.
